The first 50 mins explores the pros & cons of Platonism with Matthew Ehret (for) & Rurik Skywalker (against); after an initial back and forth on Plato as exposer vs. advocate of elite social engineering, Rurik’s internet connection made it impossible for him to stay on the call. In the second 90 mins, Matthew & I get into an animated debate about whether there’s a need for leaders, what makes a good leader, JFK & Marilyn Monroe, whether it’s possible to change the system from within, Orwell & 1984, William Blake vs. Rembrandt, different levels of human potential, human beings vs. humanity, Crowleyean “individuation,” natural good vs unnatural evil, earned & unearned powers, JFK, MLK, DT as boat-rockers, institutions as inevitably satanic, Satan’s plan, love of wisdom, the soul-as-guide, leaving the comfort zone, and what a being Platonist means to Matthew.
